Easter Treats

Wether you are pretty orthodox or atheist, Easter is always the perfect time to spend a beautiful day with your closest people, eating way too much chocolate, and treating yourself a bit more. And so it was my Easter Sunday this year, with a lovely sun in the sky, my family visiting our place and bringing chocolate to celebrate. And after filling up that belly of mine, I actually treated myself to some beauty stuff, because, well, you know me...

Holiday to me is pampering time, so I had a lovely and relaxing shower with a good old homemade coffee scrub (sharing this later next week) and a face mask time immediately after. I went for two of my most loved face masks, the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (£21,50) on the dry areas of my face, and the Soap and Glory No Cloggs Allowed Mask (£11,50) all over my chin, forehead and nose where I'm getting very spotty recently. Those two make the world of good for my skin and I always feel regenerated right after, with a fresh new skin replacing my usual dull one. And of course I went for the L'Oreal EverRiche Absolute Oil Precieux (£7,99) all over my hair, as this lovely product not only is amazing in giving a subtle shine and making your hair so soft, but it also smells heavenly with that jasmine aroma.

Throw on my favorite lace blouse, an oldie but a goodie which actually looks pretty similar to this Oasis top, and went for my minimal makeup routine for lazy days including only foundation, concealer (and I'm so happy I can now wear the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer again as my skin is a bit less pale) and eyeliner, I decided to go for my new favorite shimmery pink lip shade, the Maria Galland Color Pencil in 200 Pamplemousse Rosé*, which not only has the cutest name, but is also lovely as an everyday basic since it's the most flattering color on me with a tun of gorgeous golden shimmers in it, and you know how I feel about shimmers recently.

I actually decided to treat myself to some Cult Beauty products and placed a little order there as they are having one of their free worldwide shipping on every order until Tuesday. I'm not revealing what I purchased yet but I've just written a Mini Cult Beauty Wishlist, so you can definitely guess, and if not, I'm sure I'm going to talk about them super soon. But for the rest I just had a good time with my family and ate my chocolate eggs, and now I'm super excited for tonight's episode of Game of Thrones, my new addiction!

The Lazy Weekend Face.

Let's just say I'm the lazier of lazy people, and my laziness is visible also in my makeup routine. On the other hand this weekend I wasn't up to anything too fancy, just a nice afternoon with ice cream and a pizza for dinner, so I went for an easy look that saw the eyeliner return in all it's glory and my loyalty towards my new favorite pink lipstick. I'm probably the most boring person when it comes to makeup, however I'm testing out some new gems I've just recently picked up and I wanted to show you my thoughts. Plus one of my new year's resolutions was to post more makeup looks on here, so here we are.

Diciamo che sono la persona più pigra tra le persone pigre, e la mia pigrezza è visibile anche nei miei makeup. D'altro canto questo weekend non avevo programmi impegnativi, solo un pomeriggio tranquillo con gelato e una pizza per cena, quindi ho optato per un look semplicissimo che ha visto il ritorno dell'eyeliner in tutta la sua gloria e la mia lealtà verso il mio nuovo rossetto rosa preferito. Probabilmente sono una persona noiosa quando si tratta di makeup, però sto testando delle new entry che ho acquistato di recente e volevo condividere i miei pensieri. In più uno dei miei buoni propositi per l'anno nuovo era quello di postare più look qui su questo blog, quindi eccoci qui!

London Beauty Haul Part 1

Last week I wrote down a really long beauty wishlist containing products I really wanted to get while I was in London. I said I knew it wouldn't have been possible to buy everything, now that I'm back we can see together which ones I brought home with me for real. I actually part with a few of the items from my wishlist whether because I couldn't find them in stock, or because I decided I didn't need them to get some other gems and give them a whirl instead. I thought I'd split this haul in two parts since things can get a bit long here, so stay tuned for part two!

La scorsa settimana ho scritto una lunghissima beauty wishlist che conteneva prodotti che avrei voluto comprare mentre ero a Londra. Dicevo di sapere che non sarebbe stato possibile acquistare tutto, ora che sono tornata possiamo vedere insieme cosa effettivamente ho portato a casa con me. In realtà ho rinunciato ad alcuni dei prodotti della wishlist o perchè non erano in stock o perchè ho deciso di non averne bisogno, per far spazio ad altri e provare qualcosa di nuovo. Ho pensato di dividere questo haul in due parti dato che la faccenda potrebbe farsi lunga qui, quindi aspettatevi la seconda parte a breve!

Travel makeup bag.

It's a bit unsual I share the content of my makeup bag on here, since I pratically never do it, but I thought it could be quite nice to show you what I'm bringing with me for a few days out of the country, because it shows which products I prefer and trust blindly and which makeup I choose if I have to pack very light. Since I'm going to do nothing too fancy, I don't really need a lot of makeup such as beautiful eyeshadows or a lot of lipsticks, this is more something I would wear everyday to look presentable and go out.

E' abbastanza inusuale che io qui sul blog condivida il contenuto della mia makeup bag, dato che praticamente non è mai successo, ma ho pensato potesse essere un'idea carina mostrare cosa ho portato con me per stare cinque giorni fuori dall'Italia, poiché credo possa mostrare quali prodotti davvero preferisco e di quali mi fido ciecamente, quali prediligo se devo viaggiare leggera. Dato che non farò niente di troppo formale, non porto con me chissà quanto makeup come ombretti e rossetti di ogni genere, si tratta più di una makeup bag per look quotidiani e per risultare presentabile prima di uscire.

Have a green head #1

As I already said way too many times lately (here and here), one of my new year's resolutions was to be a better hair owner, love it more, and use way more natural hair products in 2014 than I did in my past life. My hair needs a vacation from hair dyes (bye NH3!), parabens, mineral oil, heat and all that jazz. Here is where I got the insane idea to keep a monthly hair diary to share with you my completely new experience, talk about some hair products I'm using and whether I like them or not, and yes to have an excuse to talk about hair more often, and above all to make this whole thing I'm doing for my hair official. Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, every month you'll see a new update under the "Have a green head" lab, otherwise... please, beat me.

Come ho già accennato davvero troppe volte di recente (qui e qui), uno dei miei propositi per il nuovo anno è quello di essere una migliore padroncina per i miei capelli, amarli di più, e usare molti più prodotti naturali nel 2014 di quello che ho fatto nella mia vita passata. I miei capelli hanno bisogno di una lunga pausa dalle tinte (ciao ciao NH3!), dai parabeni, dalla paraffina, dall'eccessivo calore eccetera eccetera. E' così che mi è venuta la malsana idea di tenere un diario mensile per condividere con voi la mia nuovissima esperienza, parlare dei prodotti per capelli che sto usando e dirvi se mi piacciono o no, e sì, anche per avere una scusa per parlare più spesso di capelli da queste parti, ma soprattutto per rendere il progetto ufficiale. Se tutto va secondo i piani, ogni mese vedrete un nuovo aggiornamento della rubrica "Have a green head", altrimenti... picchiatemi.

Winter Sales Beauty Haul.

Let me say this post was meant to be up on the blog just a few weeks ago, but due to some postage problems with the italian service, some of my winter sales purchases came to me just yesterday. As I already said once, winter sales are the perfect occasion to treat yourself to some picks you always wanted to try, and above all to do some good old online beauty shopping, filling up that baskets and checking-out thoughtlessly because you know you are in front of some amazing deals. Well, this time it wasn't exactly like that, discounts sometimes weren't that gorgeous, but you have to do what you have to do, and even with just little percentages off I managed to pick up some products that were in my wishlist for way too much time, and here they are.

Fatemi dire che questo post doveva essere online giusto qualche settimana fa, ma a causa di qualche problema con le poste italiane (e non spendiamo ulteriori parole), alcuni dei miei acquisti saldosi sono arrivati da me solo ieri. Come avevo già accennato, i saldi invernali per me sono un'ottima occasione per viziarsi un po' acquistando alcuni dei prodotti che si hanno sempre voluto provare, e soprattutto per fare del buon vecchio shopping online, riempiendo quei carrelli e cliccando sul tasto "check-out" senza troppi pensieri perchè si è coscienti di essere di fronte ad un buon affarone. Beh, questa volta non è andata essatamente così, alcuni sconti non erano così entusiasmanti, ma insomma, anche togliendo solo piccole percentuali dai prezzi originali sono riuscita a procurarmi alcuni dei prodotti che giacevano nella mia wishlist per ben troppo tempo, e sono quello di cui vi parlerò oggi.

Top 5 Gone Too Soon Products.

You may already know the Dramatags, so I won't say a lot about them, but since in the italian beauty blogger's world they're pretty famous now, when Drama came out with a contest, I had to take part and try mentioning my ideas about a possible future Dramatag theme; this Dramatag was inspired by one of my ideas, so I just needed to write my version down as soon as possible. The thing is nominating five beauty products you love so much that you simply can't stop using and finishing really fast, so fast that you hate how soon they're gone everytime. I was pretty good in this: my instinct would have nominated only skincare products, but thinking about it I could actually find a pair of makeup products and one body product to be featured too.

Probabilmente già conoscete tutte i Dramatag, quindi non ci spenderò più molte parole, ma quando Drama lanciò il suo contest, ho dovuto partecipare e proporre le mie idee per un possibile futuro Dramatag; questo tag è infatti ispirato da una delle mie idee (!), quindi dovevo necessariamente rispondere al più presto. Bisogna questa volta nominare cinque prodotti che si amano così tanto che non si riesce a smettere di utilizzarli, tanto che finiscono davvero troppo in fretta, così in fretta che si odia con quanta velocità se ne vadano. Sono stata piuttosto brava questa volta: il mio istinto mi avrebbe portato a nominare solo prodotti di skincare, ma pensandoci su sono riuscita a trovare anche un paio di prodotti di makeup e un prodotto per il corpo da mostrarvi.

Empties #4

In these past months I've unconsciously accumulated a lot of empties products, forgetting about them in a big bag and rembembering only too late. I thought it could be the best way to start brushing up on my old but always good blog columns I left behind, beginning, of course, with the "Empties" one, but giving it a new look. With that being said, I'll show you my most recent products I used up, which will include either hair, body, skin and makeup products.

In questi ultimi mesi ho accumulato quasi inconsciamente un mucchio di prodotti terminati, dimenticandomi di loro un una grossa borsa e ricordandomene solo troppo tardi. Ho pensato però che potesse essere l'occasione perfetta per rispolverare le mie vecchie (ma sempre buone) rubriche sul blog, ad iniziare chiaramente con "Empties", ma donandole un nuovo look. Ciò detto, vi mostrerò i prodotti che ho terminato di recente, che questa volta includono sia prodotti di skincare, haircare, bodycare e makeup.

Review: L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint.

It's been a complete year since I bought my last liquid foundation, Pupa Active Light, which disappointed me so much that I started buying only mineral or powder bases. However, when the L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint came out, I was pretty intrigued not only by its own concept, but also by all the pretty enthusiastic reviews I read all around the beauty blogs world. When I had the opportunity to buy it with an almost 60+% discount, I simply decided to try it. I didn't even know if the shade I got was right for my skintone, also I thought it would caused me a bad break out or something, since that's what all the liquid foundations I tried did. I have not great expectations on this, but, as you could maybe predict by the quantity of mentions it received in my last favorites posts, I finally happened to love it.

E' passato un anno da quando ho acquistato il mio ultimo fondotinta liquido, il Pupa Active Light, che mi ha delusa così tanto che ho cominciato a comprare solo basi minerali o in polvere. Quando il L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint è uscito, però, ero molto intrigata non solo dal suo concept molto particolare, ma anche da tutte le review molto entusiaste che leggevo in giro per il mondo dei beauty blog. Quando ho avuto l'opportunità di comprarlo con circa il 60+% di sconto, ho semplicemente deciso di prenderlo. Non sapevo nemmeno se la tonalità presa fosse quella giusta per me, inoltre pensavo mi avrebbe provocato brutti sfoghi e brufoletti come tutti gli altri fondi liquidi provati. Non avevo grandi aspettative, ma, come avrete certamente intuito dalla quantità di menzioni che ha ricevuto nei miei ultimi post di preferiti, me ne sono invece innamorata.

Best of 2013 - Makeup and Tools.

I promised the first 2014 posts would have been a 'Best of 2013' series, and here we are with the first of two post about the best beauty products of the past year. 2013 has been a beauty-full year, and I discovered a lot of new makeup items I loved and really enjoyed wearing all year around; so I'll mention the ones of them I liked the most and I think are actually the best makeup products I used in this passed year.

Ho promesso che i primi post del 2014 sarebbero stati la serie 'Best of 2013', ed eccoci qui con il primo di due post dedicati ai migliori prodotti dell'anno passato. Il 2013 è stato un anno bellissimo anche sotto questo punto di vista, e ho scoperto un sacco di nuovi prodotti di makeup che ho imparato ad amare e ho indossato tutto l'anno; quindi menzionerò quelli che più mi sono piaciuti e che penso possano meritarsi il titolo di migliori prodotti di makeup dell'anno appena passato.

November '13 favorites.

November not only brought the worst winter cold weather here in Milan, but also a lot of news in my makeup and beauty experience: I tried a lot of new products and tested brands I never used before, and I'm really happy to include most of them in this favorites post, since this means I loved a lot of my recent purchases. So here they are, my November favorites.

Novembre non solo ha portato con sé la più schifezza di condizioni atmosferiche che esistano qui a Milano, ma anche moltissime novità in fatto di makeup e beauty per quanto riguarda me in prima persona: ho provato molti nuovi prodotti e testato nuovi brand mai provati prima, e sono felice di includere molti di questi prodotti in questo post dei preferiti, dato che significa che sto amando i miei acquisti più recenti. Quindi eccoli qui, i miei preferiti di novembre!

Top 5 Doe Deer Products.

Everyone knows what a Dramatag is, but since the first one I didn't reply to any of the newest tags simply because I wasn't completely inspired by the products I use, which didn't generally suit the tags' requests. But the new one is just the one for me! It simply asks to select five products you would use to reproduce a sweet, soft and "doe-eyed" look, and to me was pretty easy to find that kind of product in my drawer since this is the look I like to reach for everyday. I love enhancing the softness of my face and the roundness of my big eyes in my everyday makeup look, and those are the products I reach for to achieve it.

Tutti saprete ormai cosa sia un Dramatag, ma io dopo il primo non ho più risposto a nessuno dei nuovi tag, semplicemente perchè non ero completamente ispirata dai prodotti che uso, che in generale non si adattavano alle richieste dei vari tag proposti. Ma l'ultimo Dramatag è fatto su misura per me! Semplicemente chiede di selezionare una top 5 di prodotti che si userebbero per riprodurre un look dolce, delicato, alla "occhi da cerbiatta", e per me si tratta praticamente di parlare di una tipologia di makeup a cui punto ogni giorno. Amo sottolineare la morbidezza delle linee del viso e rendere i miei occhi (già grandi di loro) ancora più grandi, e questi sono i prodotti che utilizzo di solito per riprodurre un look del genere.

October beauty haul.

Recently I get a bit too much excited about new launches in the beauty world, and, as a consequence, I happened to spend my money in some of them, since I just can't resist change my beauty stash when it comes a new season. You all maybe already know Lush launched its Christmas limited edition, or Bourjois came out with some cool and innovative products, and when you get to see them in the shop and/or it comes an ASOS' discount code in you email box, how can you say no?!

Recentemente mi lascio un po' troppo entusiasmare dai nuovi lanci nel mondo cosmetico, e, come conseguenza, è involontariamente e casualmente capitato che spendessi soldi in alcuni di essi, dato che non so effettivamente resistere ad allargare e rinnovare la mia selezione di prodotti beauty quando la stagione cambia. Probabilmente sapete già tutte che Lush ha lanciato la sua collezione nataliazia, o che Bourjois se n'è uscito con dei nuovi prodotti interessanti e innovativi, e be', quando poi li vedi dal vivo e/o ti arrivano sconti ASOS via mail, come puoi dir di no?!

Top 5 I'm late Products.

This is a reply post to Drama's tag (you can find her post here) that consists in nominating five products you can't reject when you're late and you have only a few minutes to get ready, but you want anyway to put some makeup on to be presentable in front of the people you'll meet that day. Well, this suits exactly the description of my morning routine in front of the mirror, when, waking up really early and being late everytime, I don't even am really concious of what I'm doing. This is why my choises are products I know very well (I wouldn't test out new products if I'm late, since I can't know how they look on me), and products I know will be ok in the sunlight as in artificial lights. And yep, I'm not stupid and I can count, I know the products in the pictures are six and not five as required, but there's an explanation to everything!

Questo post vuole essere la mia risposta al tag lanciato da Drama (il suo post lo trovate a questo link), che ha ideato questa top 5 di prodotti che si utilizzano quando si è in ritardo e si hanno solo pochi minuti per truccarsi, e tuttavia non si vuole uscire di casa completamente senza trucco. Si dà il caso che questo sia ciò che succede in casa mia ogni mattina, quando tra l'altro, svegliandomi presto e presa dalla fretta, non sono nemmeno del tutto cosciente di quello che faccio. Perciò la mia scelta non può che ricadere su prodotti che conosco bene (sicuramente non mi metto a testarne di nuovi se sono di fretta, per evitare brutte cose che non è bene descrivere), e che so per certo non mi giocheranno brutti scherzi una volta spuntato il sole sopra l'orizzonte, fuori casa, dove non ci sono luci soffuse a confondere il tutto. E sì, non mi sono rimbecillita, so che i prodotti in foto sono ben sei e che dovevo sceglierne cinque, ma c'è una spiegazione ad ogni cosa!

Lo Sfumato / Wild Ombrés Preference.

And with this lyrical photo, I'm pleased to finally introduce you the Wild Ombrès Preference by L'Oreal, and if you didn't know yet, finding it here in my hometown is hard, really hard. I had got ombrè hair once last year, doing it myself at home because my hairdresser wasn't enought self-confident to do it to my hair for the first time, but in that age there was no DIY kit and you was supposed to do it yourself in every part of it: I finally reach the good compromise, buying an oxydizing emulsion and going with that. Of course it wasn't good for my hair, which became the driest hair ever, but you know... this was the price. After a long period of ombré hair I decided to cut and dye them, to make them as close to my natural hair as possible. Well, now is that time of the year in which summer makes you want to have lighter hair, and after reading Chia and Natalia's posts, I had to add myself to the list of blogger who have tried the Wild Ombrés by L'Oreal.

E con questa fotografia poetica, sono lieta di presentarvi finalmente Lo Sfumato di L'Oreal, che, se mi seguite su facebook o twitter, saprete che bramo da un po', ma che mi è stato impossibile trovarlo fino ad ora. Ho avuto l'effetto ombrè sui miei capelli già una volta l'anno scorso, fatto da sola a casa quando all'epoca non esistevano certi kit e le cose dovevi farle proprio da zero: ho raggiunto il buon compromesso utilizzando un ossidante che era l'unica cosa che schiariva i miei capelli. Certo, non era il massimo per la loro salute, infatti diventarono i capelli più secchi mai visti, ma insomma... quello era il prezzo da pagare. Dopo un lungo periodo ho deciso poi di tagliarli e tingerli, per farli tornare il più simile possibile ai miei capelli naturali. Beh, ora ci risiamo, in quel periodo dell'anno in cui si ha voglia di capelli più chiari, e dopo aver letto i post di Chia e Natalia, dovevo provare Lo Sfumato anche io.

The Makeup Bag #1

Recently I'm trying a lot of new products, but I'm also redescovering old products I kept locked in my drawer, a lot of forgotten goodies, which now are actually in my everyday makeup bag along with my other most used ones in this period. Most exciting part of the whole thing are my new beloved, the Real Techniques brushes, a recent purchase from HQhair, and if you follow me for a while, you'd know I wanted them for ages. I decided to buy the Core Collection Set to have the chance to try a lot of them spending less then buying 4 singular brushes. I'm liking them a lot, they are really good quality, but I expected a lot more because of all the reviews I read online: my favorite one is the Contour Brush, because it allows to reach the perfect contour being that small and pointy. The other one I use a lot is the Buffing Brush, and I use it to apply my Neve Cosmetics High Coverage Mineral Foundation everyday, but actually I think it isn't the best brush to this purpose and I want to try it to blend my liquid foundation, maybe then will be better!

Di recente sto provando un po' di nuovi prodotti, ma ne sto anche riscoprendo di vecchi che tenevo chiusi nel cassetto, insomma dei tesori dimenticati che al momento in verità si trovano nella mia makeup bag insieme a quelli che uso di più ultimamente. La parte che mi rende più entusiasta sono sicuramente i miei nuovissimi pennelli Real Techniques, acquistati davvero di recente da HQhair, e se seguite me o il blog da qualche tempo, saprete di certo che li ho voluti a lungo. Ho deciso di acquistare il set Core Colletion Set per avere l'opportunità di provarne molti spendendo meno di quanto avrei fatto acquistandoli singolarmente. Mi stanno piacendo molto e la qualità è davvero buona, ma non so perchè mi aspettavo di più, forse per via delle altissime aspettative dopo aver letto così tante belle cose sui blog: il mio preferito è il Contour Brush perchè permette di definire perfettamente gli zigomi essendo piccolo e a punta. L'altro che utilizzo di più è il Buffing Brush, e lo uso per applicare il mio fondo Neve Cosmetics High Coverage Mineral Foundation tutti i giorni, ma in verità penso che non sia il migliore a questo scopo e voglio provarlo per stendere un fondo liquido, per vedere se così fa miracoli!

April favorites.

It's already time of monthly favorites, the April edition, and I'm actually not that ready to write this post yet: this month I tried just two or three new products, so I haven't really discovered that many good things, and  was not that impressed with the new products I bought at the beginning of April, except for some little exceptions, of course. My favorites are only makeup products, and they are also not that much in number, but, being a lot picky, I promise these are good and the ones I'm using the most recently, almost everyday.

E' già tempo dei preferiti del mese di Aprile, e io non sono del tutto pronta a scrivere questo post, a dire il vero: questo meso ho provato sì e no due/tre nuovi prodotti, quindi non ci sono state chissà quante grandi scoperte, né sono rimasta per ora particolarmente impressionata da quello che ho acquistato a inizio aprile, a parte qualche piccola eccezione, chiaramente! I preferiti di questo mese sono solo prodotti di makeup, e non sono molti, ma, essendo stata molto selettiva, posso garantire che sono i migliori del mese e quelli che ho usato di più di recente, praticamente ogni giorno.

HOW TO: Mermaid nail art.

Come preannunciato nello scorso post, oggi ho realizzato una nail art e voglio mostrarvela. E' molto carina a mio parere, e soprattutto molto estiva e portabile. Mi ricorda molto il mare che quest'anno non vedrò, ma soprattutto adoro questo look mermaid dai colori molto vivaci e l'effetto lucido. Dopo aver visto il risultato (perchè era la prima volta che ci provavo) ed aver sperimentato un po', ho deciso che avrei scritto un brevissimo tutorial su come reallizzarla.

Premetto subito che non me la sono inventata e che come per tutte le cose c'è sempre qualcuno o qualcosa che mi ha dato l'ispirazione. Per questa nail art in particolare sono stata ispirata da queste bellissime foto dopo aver sfogliato l'intero blog (cosa che tra l'altro, se avete tempo e vi piacciono le nail art, vi consiglio assolutamente di fare perchè io, pur non conoscendo una sola parola francese, me ne sono innamorata e lo trovo molto utile anche solo guardando le figure). Ovviamente nelle foto appena linkate si voleva ottenere un effetto completamente differente dal mio!

Nail: Blue Reef.

Penso che questo sarà il post più veloce di sempre e sicuramente molto diverso dal solito, ma volevo mostrarvi uno smalto che ho acquistato recentemente: sto parlando del 613 Blue Reef della Color Riche di L'Oreal. Il prezzo originale è di 3,99€, ma ora all'Oviesse si trova scontato a 2,99€, prezzo a cui penso di non aver mai trovato uno smalto L'Oreal. Sono gli smalti "brillantezza estrema", ed è vero: non servirebbe nemmeno il top coat.

L'ho comprato innamorandomi del colore che vedevo nella boccetta con le luci del negozio, conoscendone già la qualità perchè ero già in possesso di un altro smalto di questa linea (il 204, un rosa stupendo del quale vi ho già parlato in un paio dei miei tutorial). L'ho acquistato pensando che fosse un azzurro scuro con delle punte di verde e alcune di blu. Tornata a casa, con la luce naturale si è rivelato totalmente un altro colore: è un blu-verde, che non saprei come descrivere se non facendovi pensare all'acqua di un lago nel punto più profondo.
