Winter Sales Beauty Haul.

Let me say this post was meant to be up on the blog just a few weeks ago, but due to some postage problems with the italian service, some of my winter sales purchases came to me just yesterday. As I already said once, winter sales are the perfect occasion to treat yourself to some picks you always wanted to try, and above all to do some good old online beauty shopping, filling up that baskets and checking-out thoughtlessly because you know you are in front of some amazing deals. Well, this time it wasn't exactly like that, discounts sometimes weren't that gorgeous, but you have to do what you have to do, and even with just little percentages off I managed to pick up some products that were in my wishlist for way too much time, and here they are.

Fatemi dire che questo post doveva essere online giusto qualche settimana fa, ma a causa di qualche problema con le poste italiane (e non spendiamo ulteriori parole), alcuni dei miei acquisti saldosi sono arrivati da me solo ieri. Come avevo già accennato, i saldi invernali per me sono un'ottima occasione per viziarsi un po' acquistando alcuni dei prodotti che si hanno sempre voluto provare, e soprattutto per fare del buon vecchio shopping online, riempiendo quei carrelli e cliccando sul tasto "check-out" senza troppi pensieri perchè si è coscienti di essere di fronte ad un buon affarone. Beh, questa volta non è andata essatamente così, alcuni sconti non erano così entusiasmanti, ma insomma, anche togliendo solo piccole percentuali dai prezzi originali sono riuscita a procurarmi alcuni dei prodotti che giacevano nella mia wishlist per ben troppo tempo, e sono quello di cui vi parlerò oggi.

Some of these products are already appeared on this blog, and, since I pratically have them for a month or so, this means I already tried them a lot and can say almost enough about their quality to be nearly ok for a full review. One of those is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir (10,95£), which I bought with a 20% off, and it came home with me actually maybe only because it was on sale: I wasn't sure whether I would have liked it or not, then I never splurged on it before, since when they launched the L'Wren Scott limited edition bottle design, and I started doubting about the certainty of not needing it in my life. And if you ever wondered what is the sense to launch a limited edition bottle design containing an old product, I'm telling you there's a sense. The Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a skin solution thought for every skin type, packed with amazing ingredients like grape, orange blossom, rose and rosemary, smelling pretty minty to me, but above all the king of multi-porpose products: not only you can use it like a toner on bare skin to reduce rednesses or hyperpigmentation, but also a few spray on makeup already done can make it last longer ad do a notable difference in make the skin looking more radiant and perfect. I bought the 30ml bottle to try it out and make an idea of the product itself beyond the beautiful girly packaging, hoping not to like it that much to need a repurchase, but here I fear we have a little problem. That same day I decided it was time to pick up something that was in my wishlist for quite a while, the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm (9,50£), also bought with a 20% off, which is an amazing overnight lip treatment like you never tried before. I can't compare it to any other lip balm I tried in the past, it's a lot more balmy and buttery than any others, it's not sticky but creamy and soft, it goes on very thick on the lips without being annoying. It's just amazing, and you can read some more considerations about it right here. Lastly that day I finally picked up my first bottle of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (15,50£), and you all already know the deal with this one, a lovely lightweight serum for acne prone skin to get rid of acne and blemishes, while gently exfoliating clogged pores. Alcuni di questi prodotti sono già apparsi su questo blog, e, dato che li possiedo da praticamente un mese, significa che sono quasi del tutto pronta per parlare della loro qualità al punto da poterci quasi fare una review completa. Uno di questi è il Caudalie Beauty Elixir (14,24€), che ho comprato con uno sconto del 20%, e che è tornato a casa come probabilmente solo per quello: non ero sicura se mi sarebe piaciuto o meno, dunque non mi sono mai decisa ad acquistarlo, fino a quando non hanno lanciato la bottiglia con design L'Wren Scott in edizione limitata, e lì ho iniziato a dubitare della certezza di non aver bisogno di lui nella mia vita. E se vi siete mai chieste quale sia il senso di lanciare un design in edizione limitata di un vecchio prodotto, beh, si vede da quelle come me che un senso ce l'ha. Il Beauty Elixir è una lozione pensata per ogni tipo di pelle, che contiene ingredienti come uva, fiori d'arancio, rosa e rosmarino, che secondo me profuma molto di menta, e che è soprattutto il re dei prodotti multi-uso: non solo si può utilizzare come tonico sulla pelle nuda per ridurre i rossori, ma può anche essere spruzzato sul makeup già fatto per farlo durare più a lungo e renderlo più fresco e radioso. Ho acquistato la bottiglia da 30ml per provarlo e farmi un'idea del prodotto stesso al di là del packaging adorabile, sperando di non amarlo così tanto da sentire il bisogno di riacquistarlo, e però temo ci sia un piccolo problema qui. Quello stesso giorno ho deciso che era tempo di acquistare finalmente qualcosa che era nella mia wishlist da un po', il Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm (12,35€), acquistato anch'esso con il 20% di sconto, che è un fantastico trattamento notturno per le labbra, come non ne avete mai provati prima. Non posso davvero compararlo a nessun altro lip balm che io abbia provato in passato, è molto più burroso di tutti gli altri, non è appiccicoso ma molto cremoso e soffice, si stende sulle labbra come uno spesso velo non fastidioso che nutre in profondità. E' adorabile davvero, e potete leggere qualche altra considerazione su di lui qui. Infine quel giorno ho finalmente preso la mia prima confezione del La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (15,50£), e ormai su di lui ne saprete tutte più di me, un siero leggero per le pelli a tendenza acneica per liberarsi di acne e brufoletti, e nel frattempo esfoliare gentilmente i pori ostruiti dal sebo. Ancora una volta qui trovate qualche altra parola su di lui e su quanto io ne sia impressionata.

Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Score

The only makeup product that came home with me is the Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Score (18£), on sale for half the original price, and if you follow me a bit, you may already know I fell in love with these blushes last year; I just needed a new shade, and what's better than a rosy shimmery one?! It's a weightless, buildable cheek tint that goes on really smoothly and effortless, leaving your skin natural, silky, for a "lit from within", radiant, dewy finish. This pairs amazing with NARS Orgasm on top, and I'm definitely loving this blush duo right now. The quality of this UD blush is the same as the one I tried last year (review here), so this is a big thumbs up for me... again. On the same shopping trip I found the last survivor of the H&M Body Treats Cotton Wood Body Scrub, which I'm afraid is no longer avialable online and in shops since it was from an old seasonal collection, however I tried it before and liked its mousse-like consistency a lot, so when I found it on sale for only 1€ I couldn't say no. It's a gentle body scrub smelling really fresh and relaxing, packed with shea butter to be also hydrating; really nice.

L'unico prodotto di makeup che è tornato a casa con me di recente è il Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Score (22,35€), trovato in saldo da Sephora al 50%, e se mi seguite da un po' saprete già per certo che sono innamorata di questi blush dall'anno scorso; avevo bisogno di provarne nuove tonalità, e cosa c'è di meglio di un rosa shimmer?! E' una tinta leggera, modulabile, che si stende facilmente lasciando la pelle molto naturale, per un aspetto come "illuminata dall'interno", radiosa, luminosa. E' meraviglioso da accoppiare con il grande classico NARS Orgasm, e sto decisamente amando questo duo di recente. La qualità di questo blush UD è la stessa di quello che ho provato l'anno scorso (review qui), quindi per me è un bel pollice in sù... di nuovo. Nello stesso giro di shopping ho trovato l'ultimo sopravvissuto dei H&M Body Treats Cotton Wood Body Scrub, che ho paura non si trovino più né online né nei negozi dato che appartenevano a una vecchia linea di qualche stagione fa, ma in ogni caso l'avevo provato una volta e mi era piaciuta molto la sua consistenza in mousse, quindi quando l'ho trovato in saldo per solo 1€ non ho saputo dirgli di no. E' uno scrub corpo molto delicato che ha un profumo freschissimo e rilassante, e che contiene burro di karitè per essere anche idratante; adorabile.

Something I haven't tried yet is the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (21,50£), picked up from the Feeluinque sales back at the beginning of January; it's meant to be a deeply moisturizing, cleansing and ant-oxidising treatment (oh we love multi-purpose products), to be applied twice a week if used like a mask, or at night time over pimples and blemishes to help those heal faster. To me the name itself, and the description above all, sounded so attractive that I wanted to try it from the first times I saw it on some blogs here and there, and I'm so happy to have it in my hands right now. Can't wait to try it out, and I'll definitely let you know about it very soon. Another Antipodes product from the Feelunique sales is the Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream (26,99£) (oh how much I wanted it!): I was actually looking for a night cream to include in my evening skincare routine, and the Antipodes option was really appealing to me, but since my skin doesn't need a super rich moisturizer, I thought the day cream would be a lot more lightweight and maybe a bit less hydrating, the perfect balance for a combination skin. I just opened it and can't tell if I'm in love yet, but the smell of this... oh God, it's amazing. It doesn't smell sweet or vanilla-like at all (which I would have loved anyway), but a lot more herbal in a nice way, fresh but also sweet, with a light touch of vanilla and honey. It's a thick cream (I'm happy I went for the day one and not the night option) packed with avocado oil, shea butter, manuka honey, resehip oil, to be oh-so-good for your skin and vegetarian as well.

Qualcosa che non ho ancora provato è la maschera Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (27,95£), che ho preso dai saldi Feelunique all'inizio di gennaio; è pensata per essere un trattamento profondamente idratante, detergente e anti-ossidante (insomma, ci piacciono i prodotti multi-uso), da applicare due volte a settimana se usata come maschera, o la sera sopra ai brufoletti per farli guarire più velocemente. Personalmente sia il nome stesso, sia soprattutto la descrizione, suonavano entrambe così attraenti che ho desiderato questo prodotto sin dal primo momento in cui l'ho visto su qualche blog, e sono felicissima di averla finalmente tra le mani! Non vedo l'ora di provarla, e di certo vi farò sapere qualcos'altro su di lei a breve. Un altro prodotto Antipodes trovato tra i saldi Feelunique è la Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream (35,09€) (oh, quanto l'ho desiderata!): ero in realtà in cerca di una crema notte da includere nella mia skincare routine serale, e l'opzione proposta da Antipodes era piuttosto attraente ai miei occhi, ma dato che la mia pelle non ha bisogno di una crema idratante molto ricca, ho pensato che la crema giorno sarebbe stata più appropriata, più leggera e forse leggermente meno idratante, il perfetto equilibrio per una pelle mista insomma. L'ho appena aperta e perciò non posso già dirvi se sia amore, ma il suo profumo... Dio se è buono. Non ha il classico profumo di vaniglia molto dolce (che a me sarebbe piaciuto ugualmente), ma è molto più erbaceo, fresco ma dolce allo stesso tempo, con un leggero tocco di vaniglia e miele. E' una crema densa (e meno male che non ho preso la crema notte), contenente olio di avocado, burro di karitè, miele di Manuka, olio di rosa canina, per nutrire a fondo la pelle, ed è anche vegetariana.

Lastly but not at least, hair products. You may tell one of my new year's resolution was to start a complete new more green and natural hair routine. With that being said, I wanted to pick up some sale pieces to start with, and between the rest of the stuff I ordered from Ecco Verde there was the Lavera Basis Sensitive Kit (10,49€), still on sale, which contains two Lavera Basis Sensitive Gentle Shampoos and a hair conditioner from the same line. I haven't tried them yet since I started with something different you may will see soon on this blog, but they are mainly fragrance free, thought to detangle and leave your hair with a beautiful natural shine. Also the hair conditioner is packed with bio avocado and almonds, to really hydrate your hair and leave it super nourished and soft. Another pick from the Feelunque sales is the L'Oreal EverRiche Absolute Oil Precieux (7,99£), a luxurious hair oil to be applied on damp or dry hair to achieve a brilliant shine, a cashmere touch and a weightlessly flowing deeply nourished hair. It contains botanic oils and it's infused with jasmine aroma, and can I say it's one of the best scents ever?! I hope it's true what I heard that the scent stays on the hair a really long time, because I can't wait for my hair to smell incredibly good.

Ultimi ma non per importanza, i prodotti per capelli. Avrete ormai capito che uno dei miei propositi per l'anno nuovo era di iniziare una routine per i capelli completamente nuova, più verde e naturale. Ciò detto, volevo acquistare qualche prodotto da cui iniziare tra i saldi, e tra le altre cose ordinate da Ecco Verde c'era il  Lavera Pacchetto Risparmio Basis Sensitive (10,49€), ancora in saldo, che contiene due bottiglie di Basis Sensitive Shampoo Delicato e un balsamo dalla stessa linea. Non li ho ancora provati dato che ho iniziato con qualcosa di differente che magari vedrete a breve sul blog, ma sono entrambi praticamente senza profumo, pensati per migliorare la pettinabilità e lasciare i capelli con una lucentezza naturale. Inoltre il balsamo contiene avocado e mandorle bio, per idratare in profondità i capelli e lasciarli nutriti e soffici. Un altro prodotto che ho scovato tra i saldi Feelunique è il L'Oreal EverRiche Absolute Oil Precieux (10,39€), un lussuoso olio da applicare su capelli umidi o asciutti per ottenere una maggiore luminosità, dei capelli soffici al tatto e profondamente nutriti. Contiene oli botanici ed è infuso di aroma di gelsomino, e posso dire che è praticamente il miglior profumo che abbia mai sentito?! Spero sia vero quello che ho sentito che il profumo resta sui capelli molto a lungo, perchè non vedo l'ora di farli profumare così.


These were my beauty picks from the winter sales this year, and now I definitely have a good stock of skincare and haircare products for a really long time. I should totally stop buying them until March (when I'll be in London, and as italian citizen I just can't say no to some Origins, Soap & Glory, Liz Earle ect. products - we don't have them here -), but I'm planning to do not splurge on makeup neither untill that date, excluding a self Valentine Day gift, which should be a NARS product (suspense...). I'm actually really excited about all the makeup spring launches, and I'm afraid my wallet will suffer a lot this time. Oh well. However you'll definitely see the product I just mentioned in this haul post in the meanwhile on this blog, so please tell me if there's something you're curious about and want to know a bit more about. Also, tell me if you tried some of the products I mentioned and whether you like them or not, I'm so curious!

Questa era la mia selezione di prodotti beauty dai saldi invernali di quest'anno, e ora ho per certo una buona scorta di prodotti di skincare e haircare da far durare molto a lungo. Dovrei decisamente smettere di acquistarne altri fino a marzo (quando sarò a Londra, e come italiana capirete anche voi che resistere a Origins, Soap & Glory, Liz Earle ect, sarà praticamente impensabile), ma conto anche di non acquistare makeup fino a quella data, ad esclusione del mio auto-regalo di San Valentino, che potrebbe essere un prodotto NARS (suspense...). In realtà sono super entusiasta di tutti i lanci primaverili nel mondo del makeup, e ho paura che il mio portafogli possa soffrire un po' questa volta. In ogni caso rivedrete questi prodotti appena menzionati sul blog nel frattempo, quindi fatemi sapere se c'è qualcosa che vi incuriosisce e su cui volete sapere qualcosa di più.
