I went a bit blush crazy

I've never been a bronzing or contouring powder girl, but being that pale girl as I am and as my cheeks never naturally blush, I'm always craving a bit of color on those face of mine and blush have always been my bestfriends since I firstly dip one's toes into makeup back in my teenager days. I remember my dad picking up my first blush ever with me, and it was a not that flattering terracotta shade with a tun of golden shimmers running through it that I would never wear nowadays but at those times was perfect to suit my not that picky necessities. But now things have changed, I became a little bit obsessed and have built up quite a collection... these are a few of my favorites!

Non sono mai stata una ragazza da bronzer o contouring, ma essendo molto pallida e visto che non arrissisco praticamente mai, bramo da sempre un po' di colore sul viso e i blush sono sempre stati i miei migliori amici già quando iniziai a truccarmi per le prime volte. Mi ricordo mio papà scegliere il mio primo blush con me, ed era una tonalità di terracotta non troppo adatta a me con un marea di shimmer dorati che oggigiorno non indosserei mai, ma che a quei tempi era perfetto per le mie esigenze non troppo pretenziose. Ma ora le cose sono cambiate, sono diventata una fan dei blush e ho costruito una piccola collezione... e questi sono alcuni dei miei preferiti!

The Lazy Weekend Face.

Let's just say I'm the lazier of lazy people, and my laziness is visible also in my makeup routine. On the other hand this weekend I wasn't up to anything too fancy, just a nice afternoon with ice cream and a pizza for dinner, so I went for an easy look that saw the eyeliner return in all it's glory and my loyalty towards my new favorite pink lipstick. I'm probably the most boring person when it comes to makeup, however I'm testing out some new gems I've just recently picked up and I wanted to show you my thoughts. Plus one of my new year's resolutions was to post more makeup looks on here, so here we are.

Diciamo che sono la persona più pigra tra le persone pigre, e la mia pigrezza è visibile anche nei miei makeup. D'altro canto questo weekend non avevo programmi impegnativi, solo un pomeriggio tranquillo con gelato e una pizza per cena, quindi ho optato per un look semplicissimo che ha visto il ritorno dell'eyeliner in tutta la sua gloria e la mia lealtà verso il mio nuovo rossetto rosa preferito. Probabilmente sono una persona noiosa quando si tratta di makeup, però sto testando delle new entry che ho acquistato di recente e volevo condividere i miei pensieri. In più uno dei miei buoni propositi per l'anno nuovo era quello di postare più look qui su questo blog, quindi eccoci qui!

Travel makeup bag.

It's a bit unsual I share the content of my makeup bag on here, since I pratically never do it, but I thought it could be quite nice to show you what I'm bringing with me for a few days out of the country, because it shows which products I prefer and trust blindly and which makeup I choose if I have to pack very light. Since I'm going to do nothing too fancy, I don't really need a lot of makeup such as beautiful eyeshadows or a lot of lipsticks, this is more something I would wear everyday to look presentable and go out.

E' abbastanza inusuale che io qui sul blog condivida il contenuto della mia makeup bag, dato che praticamente non è mai successo, ma ho pensato potesse essere un'idea carina mostrare cosa ho portato con me per stare cinque giorni fuori dall'Italia, poiché credo possa mostrare quali prodotti davvero preferisco e di quali mi fido ciecamente, quali prediligo se devo viaggiare leggera. Dato che non farò niente di troppo formale, non porto con me chissà quanto makeup come ombretti e rossetti di ogni genere, si tratta più di una makeup bag per look quotidiani e per risultare presentabile prima di uscire.

Best of 2013 - Skincare & Co.

Last week I talked about my makeup favorites of the whole past year, and I promised you I'd have written another post for the series: this is the time of sharing my skincare, body care and others favorites of 2013. The past year was the year of skincare discovering to me, I finally understood how important taking care of my skin is, and I became a bit obsesses with skincare products, so much that they're pretty much the main thing I get so excited in buying; I love trying out skincare products, and you maybe have already understood it by the quantity of skincare post I write on the blog. Better saying I went a bit skincare products crazy in 2013 and I just enjoyed a lot picking up my favorites from the bunch! Here they are.

La scorsa settimana ho parlato dei miei prodotti di makeup preferiti dell'intero anno appena passato, e vi ho promesso che avrei scritto un altro post per la stessa serie: questa volta condividerò i miei prodotti di skincare, body care e altri preferiti del 2013. Lo scorso anno è stato per me quello della scoperta della skincare, ho finalmente capito a pieno quanto sia importante prendersi cura della pelle, e sono diventata un po' ossessionata dai prodotti di skincare, così tanto che sono la principale fonte di entusiasmo quando acquisto prodotti beauty related; amo provarne di nuovi, e forse ve ne siete già accorte per via della quantità industriale di post ad essi dedicati che pubblico sul blog. Meglio dire subito che ho un po' esagerato con i prodotti di skincare nel 2013, ma mi sono anche divertita a selezionare i miei preferiti dal gruppo! Ed eccoli qui.

Top 5 Doe Deer Products.

Everyone knows what a Dramatag is, but since the first one I didn't reply to any of the newest tags simply because I wasn't completely inspired by the products I use, which didn't generally suit the tags' requests. But the new one is just the one for me! It simply asks to select five products you would use to reproduce a sweet, soft and "doe-eyed" look, and to me was pretty easy to find that kind of product in my drawer since this is the look I like to reach for everyday. I love enhancing the softness of my face and the roundness of my big eyes in my everyday makeup look, and those are the products I reach for to achieve it.

Tutti saprete ormai cosa sia un Dramatag, ma io dopo il primo non ho più risposto a nessuno dei nuovi tag, semplicemente perchè non ero completamente ispirata dai prodotti che uso, che in generale non si adattavano alle richieste dei vari tag proposti. Ma l'ultimo Dramatag è fatto su misura per me! Semplicemente chiede di selezionare una top 5 di prodotti che si userebbero per riprodurre un look dolce, delicato, alla "occhi da cerbiatta", e per me si tratta praticamente di parlare di una tipologia di makeup a cui punto ogni giorno. Amo sottolineare la morbidezza delle linee del viso e rendere i miei occhi (già grandi di loro) ancora più grandi, e questi sono i prodotti che utilizzo di solito per riprodurre un look del genere.

Chitchat: Neve Cosmetics Flat Perfection.

It was the beginning of summertime when this foundation was launched, with a certain sense of timing because I think the Neve Cosmetics Flat Perfection is perfect for summer, being such a lightweight product, and also for traveling because you can bring it with you instead of your usual mineral powder which can be a bit uncomfortable for this purpose because of the loose powder going on in your makeup bag. I know, summer is almost over now, but I think this foundation can be a good choice also in these transitioning months from summer into fall season. I want to underline this isn't a full review because I haven't try it for enough time to have clear ideas about it and about how it behaves in colder weather, since I used it only in summertime; anyway I want to share with you my first impressions about it, since a lot of you are may thinking about buying it. This is what I've learned in these months and what I think about it, mixed with some comparative swatches which can be useful to choose your color.

Era l'inizio dell'estate quando Neve lanciò sul mercato questo fondotinta, con un certo tempismo dato che penso che il Flat Perfection sia il fondotinta ideale per il periodo estivo, essendo così leggero sulla pelle, ed essendo inoltre l'ideale per il viaggio, in quanto portarlo con sé è sicuramente meno problematico di portare un fondo minerale in polvere libera. Lo so, l'estate è praticamente quasi finita ormai, ma penso che questo fondotinta possa rivelarsi una buona scelta anche in questo periodo di transizione da estate ad autunno, o comunque finchè non arriverà la stagione fredda. Voglio sottolineare che questa non sarà una review completa del prodotto perchè non sento di averlo provato abbastanza per averne un'idea precisa, soprattutto non so come si comporta nei mesi freddi, dato che l'ho usato solo in estate; comunque voglio condividere le mie prime impressioni dato che magari alcune di voi stanno ancora pensando se acquistarlo o meno. Quindi questo è quello che ho imparato in questi mesi, e quello che penso di lui, insieme anche a qualche swatch comparativo che possono essere forse utili alla scelta del colore.

August '13 favorites.

August to me was a relaxing month, nothing exciting was going on, instead I had a beautiful vacation week into nature and at the beach, which shortly didn't give me the opportunity to try a lot of new product out, but instead I experimented with a minimal and really summer inspired makeup look. When I came home I could try a few new products and I'm already in love with some of them. But in general my beauty favorites this month are not that long list of stuff.

Agosto è stato un mese di puro relax, non è successo nulla di particolarmente entusiasmante, e invece mi sono concessa una breve vacanza al mare tra natura e spiaggia, che in breve non mi ha dato l'opportunità di provare chissà quali nuovi prodotti, ma anzi ho sperimentato più che altro un makeup molto minimal e ispirato all'estate il più delle volte. Quando sono tornata a casa invece ho provato alcuni nuovi prodotti e ho già potuto innamorarmi di alcuni di loro. In generale però, questo mese la lista dei miei prodotti beauty preferiti non è lunghissima.

July '13 Favorites.

Taking advantage of the the only moment of the day my computer can handle the summer heat for more than only five minutes, I'm finally writing my july favorites post; july was a really hot month, but it gave me the opportunity to try out a lot of new products and fall in love with them, but also to rediscover some old goodies and re-start using them non-stop. I think this could be the first month ever in which my favorites involve a lot of categories of products, not only makeup; indeed I have to mention loads of products of every kind!

Approfittando dell'unico momento in cui il computer riesce a reggere il caldo per più di cinque minuti, finalmente vi scrivo questo post sui preferiti del mese di luglio, mese davvero caldo, che però mi ha dato più volte l'opportunità di provare tanti nuovi prodotti, di innamorarmene, ma anche di riscoprirne di vecchi e tornare ad utilizzarli non-stop. Penso che questo sia il mese i cui preferiti sono una tra le più ampie selezioni di categorie tra i vari preferiti mensili del mio blog, in quanto non mi sono limitata al makeup, ma ho da menzionare prodotti di ogni genere!

Top 5 I'm late Products.

This is a reply post to Drama's tag (you can find her post here) that consists in nominating five products you can't reject when you're late and you have only a few minutes to get ready, but you want anyway to put some makeup on to be presentable in front of the people you'll meet that day. Well, this suits exactly the description of my morning routine in front of the mirror, when, waking up really early and being late everytime, I don't even am really concious of what I'm doing. This is why my choises are products I know very well (I wouldn't test out new products if I'm late, since I can't know how they look on me), and products I know will be ok in the sunlight as in artificial lights. And yep, I'm not stupid and I can count, I know the products in the pictures are six and not five as required, but there's an explanation to everything!

Questo post vuole essere la mia risposta al tag lanciato da Drama (il suo post lo trovate a questo link), che ha ideato questa top 5 di prodotti che si utilizzano quando si è in ritardo e si hanno solo pochi minuti per truccarsi, e tuttavia non si vuole uscire di casa completamente senza trucco. Si dà il caso che questo sia ciò che succede in casa mia ogni mattina, quando tra l'altro, svegliandomi presto e presa dalla fretta, non sono nemmeno del tutto cosciente di quello che faccio. Perciò la mia scelta non può che ricadere su prodotti che conosco bene (sicuramente non mi metto a testarne di nuovi se sono di fretta, per evitare brutte cose che non è bene descrivere), e che so per certo non mi giocheranno brutti scherzi una volta spuntato il sole sopra l'orizzonte, fuori casa, dove non ci sono luci soffuse a confondere il tutto. E sì, non mi sono rimbecillita, so che i prodotti in foto sono ben sei e che dovevo sceglierne cinque, ma c'è una spiegazione ad ogni cosa!

June '13 Favorites.

June was a school-home-school month, nothing crazy was going on and actually to me was a bit boring: I had to study a lot for my finals and I had no time to go out and no reasons to do my makeup, and I can't go shopping too; I got that few new items online thanks to some offers. I feel like I'm saying this every month, but this time I haven't that many favorites, mainly because I used the same products all the time because of my tasks.

Giugno è stato un mese di scuola-casa, non è successo nulla di interessante e in effetti per me è stato un po' noioso: ho studiato molto per gli esami e non ho avuto tempo per uscire, nessuna ragione per truccarmi, e inoltre non ho chiaramente potuto fare shopping di recente; ho acquistato qualcosa di nuovo, sì, ma online grazie a delle offerte recenti, e niente più. Mi sembra di dirlo ormai ogni mese, ma questa volta i preferiti non sono molti, principalmente perchè i miei impegni richiedevano un makeup semplice e comodo, e dunque usavo sempre gli stessi prodotti.

The Makeup Bag #1

Recently I'm trying a lot of new products, but I'm also redescovering old products I kept locked in my drawer, a lot of forgotten goodies, which now are actually in my everyday makeup bag along with my other most used ones in this period. Most exciting part of the whole thing are my new beloved, the Real Techniques brushes, a recent purchase from HQhair, and if you follow me for a while, you'd know I wanted them for ages. I decided to buy the Core Collection Set to have the chance to try a lot of them spending less then buying 4 singular brushes. I'm liking them a lot, they are really good quality, but I expected a lot more because of all the reviews I read online: my favorite one is the Contour Brush, because it allows to reach the perfect contour being that small and pointy. The other one I use a lot is the Buffing Brush, and I use it to apply my Neve Cosmetics High Coverage Mineral Foundation everyday, but actually I think it isn't the best brush to this purpose and I want to try it to blend my liquid foundation, maybe then will be better!

Di recente sto provando un po' di nuovi prodotti, ma ne sto anche riscoprendo di vecchi che tenevo chiusi nel cassetto, insomma dei tesori dimenticati che al momento in verità si trovano nella mia makeup bag insieme a quelli che uso di più ultimamente. La parte che mi rende più entusiasta sono sicuramente i miei nuovissimi pennelli Real Techniques, acquistati davvero di recente da HQhair, e se seguite me o il blog da qualche tempo, saprete di certo che li ho voluti a lungo. Ho deciso di acquistare il set Core Colletion Set per avere l'opportunità di provarne molti spendendo meno di quanto avrei fatto acquistandoli singolarmente. Mi stanno piacendo molto e la qualità è davvero buona, ma non so perchè mi aspettavo di più, forse per via delle altissime aspettative dopo aver letto così tante belle cose sui blog: il mio preferito è il Contour Brush perchè permette di definire perfettamente gli zigomi essendo piccolo e a punta. L'altro che utilizzo di più è il Buffing Brush, e lo uso per applicare il mio fondo Neve Cosmetics High Coverage Mineral Foundation tutti i giorni, ma in verità penso che non sia il migliore a questo scopo e voglio provarlo per stendere un fondo liquido, per vedere se così fa miracoli!
