Come ho detto negli ultimi due post, sono stata a Londra la scorsa settimana insieme al mio ragazzo; Londra è il luogo dove ho sempre sognato di stare e sono così contenta di avere avuto l'opportunità di esserci anche solo per cinque giorni e godere del bellissimo tempo di quella prima settimana di marzo con la primavera appena arrivata. Prima del viaggio avevo un sacco di domande su quali posto visitare, dove mangiare e cosa fare, così ho pensato che potrebbe essere carino iniziare il mio Travel Diary condividendo con voi la mia esperienza a Londra e sperando che possano interessarvi le mie foto e che queste possano magari ispirarvi.
We visited the British Museum one of the first days we were there and the thing that really leave me with an open mouth was the free museum entry, which here in Italy is just something unthinkable. It was really nice to be free to choose which part of the museum we wanted to see in that moment and leave whenever we wanted. Next we went into the Natural History Museum, where we got so excited for dinosaurs, birds and other animals, but we seriously visited it all! I also really enjoyed the lovely walks around the city just to explore it as well as we could, morning and night, along the Thames or near some bright Daffodils (which are always been one of my favorite flowers).
Abbiamo visitato il British Museum uno dei primi giorni e la cosa che mi ha lasciato davvero a bocca aperta è che lì l'entrata ai musei è gratis, cosa impensabile qui in Italia. E' stato davvero piacevole essere liberi di girare i settori che più ci interessavano e uscire quando questi erano terminati. Abbiamo anche visitato il Natural History Museum, dove siamo stati particolarmente entusiasti dei dinosauri, uccelli e molti altri animali, ma l'abbiamo girato davvero tutto! Mi sono piaciute moltissimo le passeggiate nella città giusto per esplorarla il più possibile, mattina e sera, lungo il Tamigi o affianco a dei narcisi sgargianti (che sono da sempre uno dei miei fiori preferiti).
Being such a beauty lover it comes with no surprise that one of the first things to be ticked off from my to-do list was beauty shopping. I couldn't resist in exploring John Lewis, Liberty, Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols, and from some of them I also bought a few things from my London Beauty Wishlist. I expecially loved how beautifully arranged Liberty was, it was just so exciting seeing every most famous beauty brand in just one place. I couldn't visit SpaceNK as well, but I got the opportunity to see it from the outside and I can only imagine what a beauty paradise it can be. I saw Illamasqua, Origins, Korres and Bobbi Brown in real life for the first time! But my primary source of beauty bits was definitely Boots, where I made the majority of my beauty shopping, picking up some of the most famous products I never had the occasion to try before. I also loved the little shabby chic souvenir boutique called Sass & Belle in Covent Garden, where you can definitely find the perfect gift or souvenir to bring home with you - I couldn't resist in front of the 'Tea Makes Everything Better' mug. H&M Home, finally, has the cutest decor bits at the most affordable price, and I wonder why we don't have it in Italy.
Essendo una beauty lover non è una sorpresa che una delle prime cose ad essere spuntata nella mia lista delle cose da fare è stato lo shopping di bellezza e makeup. Non ho potuto resistere nell'esplorare John Lewis, Liberty, Selfridges, Harrods e Harvey Nichols, e da alcuni di loro ho anche acquistato alcuni dei prodotti della mia London Beauty Wishlist. Ho in particolare amato la bellezza della disposizione e dell'arredamento di Liberty, e poi era così entusiasmante vedere tutti i brand più famosi in un unico luogo. Non ho potuto visitare SpaceNK, ma l'ho visto da fuori e posso solo immaginare che paradiso possa essere. Ho visto Illamasqua, Origins, Korres e Bobbi Brown dal vivo per la prima volta! Ma la mia fonte primaria di prodotti di bellezza è stato senza dubbio Boots, dove ho fatto la maggior parte del mio shopping selezionando alcuni dei prodotti più famosi che non ho mai avuto l'opportunità di provare prima. Da visitare è sicuramente la carinissima boutique shabby chic dal nome Sass & Belle a Covent Garden, dopo si possono trovare tutti i regali e souvenir che si vorrebbero mai portare a casa - io non ho potuto resistere di fronte alla tazza 'Tea Makes Everything Better'. Infine H&M Home ha i più adorabili pezzi di arredamento ai prezzi più convenienti, tanto che mi chiedo perchè in Italia non ci sia.
Food-wise I was a bit afraid not to find something good a vegetarian could eat, but there're actually a tun of places where to eat some delicious veggie bits. I can't suggest Pret-a-Manger and their freshly prepared baguettes and tosties or freshly backed cheese and tomato croissant enough, but we also ate a lot of Tesco's sandwiches and we also treated ourselves to a good old fish and chips from Poppies in Spitalfields (which was amazing; you can eighter eat in or take away too!). Ben's Cookies is a classic, but their cookies are seriously the best, maybe a little pricy, but they are definitely worth every penny: I especially loved the Double Chocolate Chunk, Triple Chocolate Chunk and the Double Chocolate & Nuts.
Per quanto riguarda il cibo, all'inizio ero preoccupata di non trovare qualcosa di buono che un vegetariano potesse mangiare, ma in realtà ci sono moltissimi posti dove mangiare qualcosa di delizioso evitando la carne. Non posso suggerire abbastanza Pret-a-Manger e le loro baguette e i loro tost preparati ogni giorni a mano, insieme al loro croissant salato al formaggio e pomodoro appena cotto, ma abbiamo mangiato spesso anche i sandwich vegetariani di Tesco e ci siamo viziati con un buon vecchio fish and chips da Poppies a Spitalfields (che era buonissimo; c'è anche il servizio take away!). Ben's Cookies è un classico, ma i loro biscotti sono davvero i migliori, forse un po' costosi, ma valgono ogni penny: i miei preferiti erano Double Chocolate Chunk, Triple Chocolate Chunk e Double Chocolate & Nuts.
The best part of our trip to me was visiting London's beautiful parks and gardens; Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and St. James Park were all so nice and beautiful, I especially enjoyed taking pictures of the swans, but the one that stole my heart was certainly Regent's Park with all the flowers and the graphic hedges and fontains. We saw squirrels there, which I was so happy about since we couldn't see them anywhere else. Covent Garden was the nicest place to me, very turistic but cozy, such a nice place where to spend a good old afternoon; it has the most beautiful shops and little boutiques to visit, and a tun of places where to eat delicious food.
La miglior parte del viaggio è stato secondo me visitare i bellissimi e vastissimi parchi di Londra; Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens e St. James Park erano tutti adorabili e bellissimi, ho in particolare adorato fare foto ai cigni, ma quello che mi ha rubato il cuore è stato sicuramente Regent's Park con tutti i suoi fiori, le siepi, le fontane e le disposizioni grafiche. Abbiamo visto gli scoiattoli lì, cosa di cui ero entusiasta visto che non siamo riusciti a vederli altrove. Covent Garden è il luogo più adorabile che abbia mai visto, molto turistico ma accogliente, un bellissimo posto in cui trascorrere un pomeriggio; ha i negozietti e le boutique più carine, e un sacco di posti dove mangiare cibo delizioso.
We had just a few days to visit London, but I'm very satisfied of how we managed to set our time. Of course we saw just a little bit of London, but we both are in love with the city and already hope to see it again very soon. Everything there is so different from Italy, I loved how organized it is and how easy is to be in every place you want at any time of the day. Avevamo solo qualche giorno per vedere Londra, ma sono molto soddisfatta di come abbiamo sfruttato il nostro tempo. Chiaramente abbiamo visto solo una piccola parte di Londra, ma entrambi ne siamo innamorati e già speriamo di rivederla molto presto. Ogni cosa lì è diversa dall'Italia, è bellissimo vedere come siano organizzati in tutto e come sia semplice essere in qualsiasi posto si desidera in qualsiasi momento. Spero abbiate trovato interessante questo post e le mie fotografie!
