Three New Lipsticks

This year I decided I want to be brave and step out of my comfort zone at least when it comes to makeup, and one of the first things I wanted to do was treat myself to some new lipsticks. If you read me pretty often you know I've never been a huge lipstick girl, I generally don't wear them at all preferring lip balms or simply nothing on my lips. However I'm always in a hunt for the perfect everyday lipstick which needs to be comfortable but nice and sheer, and I think I may have found some.

Quest'anno ho deciso di voler essere più coraggiosa e uscire un po' di più della mia comfort zone almeno quando si tratta di makeup, e una delle prime cose con cui volevo viziarmi era un paio di rossetti nuovi. Se mi leggete spesso saprete che non sono mai stata una ragazza da rossetto, di solito non li indosso affatto preferendo un lip balm o semplicemente delle labbra nude. Però sono sempre alla ricerca del rossetto perfetto per tutti i giorni che deve essere comodo ma elegante e sheer, e penso di averne trovato qualcuno.

I always desidered to treat myself to some Paul & Joe lipstick, which every of them if you don't know comes as a lipstick refill + a lipstick case of choise, which makes the whole thing pretty inspirational and costumizable but also very expensive since you need to pay either the lipstick refill and the lipstick case. This always made me step away from them, this year though my lovely boyfriend ordered two of them as a super sweet Valentine's day gift. The two shades that were in my wishlist since forever and I finally got are Paul & Joe Pret-a-Porter Lipstick (£12,50), packed in the very vintage-looking original plastic case, and the Paul & Joe Retro Lipstick (£13,27), packed in their new and super cute mint green limited edition case. The former is from their Natural lipstick range, a line that includes pretty much only very natural and nude colors, soft and easy shades thought to be weared as an everyday basis, with a really nice comfortable formula that aims to hydrate your lips with the orange flower water and white lily extract and give them a natural plump and healthy look. This lipstick is very sheer and glides on effortlessly, is definitely buildable and brings an amazing light to your lips with just a tiny amount of color. Pret-a-Porter definitely became my go to lipstick in a few days since it's so nice, lightweight and easy to wear (you can see it in action here). The latter comes from the Full Pigment line, a completely opposite world, that offers super pigmented shades that aims to create a dramatic look. I went for one of the two nude shades from this line, Retro, which is a very pigmented pink-y nude and has a really nice formula, less hydrating than Pret-a-Porter but very easy to apply as well. Going on opaque with just one coat, this is the lipstick I reach when I want more coverage or a fancier look. It's still nude as I'm not confident in darker shades, but it's very notable on the lips as well and helps in creating that kind of put together look that I aspire to sometimes.

Ho sempre desiderato di viziarmi con un paio di rossetti Paul & Joe, che, se non lo sapete, sono venduti in due parti come refill del rossetto + la sua custodia a scelta del cliente, cosa che rende il tutto piuttosto interessante e personalizzabile ma anche abbastanza costoso dato che bisogna pagare sia per il rossetto in sé che per la custodia. Questo mi ha sempre tenuta lontana dall'acquisto, ma quest'anno il mio fidanzato ne ha ordinati due per me come regalo di San Valentino. Le due tonalità che erano nella mia wishlist da tempo e che ho finalmente tra le mani sono Paul & Joe Pret-a-Porter Lipstick (17,56€), nella bellissima custodia classica in plastica, e Paul & Joe Retro Lipstick (15,90€), nella loro nuova custodia verde menta in edizione limitata. Il primo appartiene alla linea Natural, una gamma che include praticamente solo colori piuttosto naturali e nude, tonalità facili da indossare pensate per look quotidiani, con una formula davvero comoda che promette di idratare le labbra con l'acqua di fiori di arancio e l'estratto di giglio bianco e dar loro un look naturale, rinvigorito e salutare. Questo rossetto è molto sheer e si stende che è un piacere, è sicuramente costruibile e porta una bellissima luce alla labbra con solo un pizzico di colore. Pret-a-Porter sta decisamente diventando il mio rossetto preferito in sole poche settimane di utilizzo dato che è così pratico, leggero e semplice da portare (lo potete vedere all'opera qui). . L'altro invece fa parte della linea Full Pigment, un mondo completamente opposto, che offre tonalità super pigmentate che aspirano a creare un look drammatico. Ho scelto una delle due tonalità nude di questa linea, Retro, che è un nude rosato molto pigmentato e ha una formula davvero interessante, meno idratante di Pret-a-Porter ma allo stesso tempo facile da applicare. Molto pigmentato e coprente al primo strato, questo è il rossetto a cui mi affido se voglio coprenza e un look più sofisticato. E' sempre nude dato che non mi sento ancora sicura in tonalità più scure, ma si nota sulle labbra e aiuta a creare un look pensato a cui spesso aspiro.

The most recent new entry in my lipsticks drawer is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Lovelight (£15), one of the most recent Urban Decay releases I wanted to try for a while. Lovelight is a pale peachy-pink shade enriched with golden shimmers, very sheer but buildable as you desire, with a super nice formula I'm very impressed with. This really glides on so easly and hydrate your lips containing jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter that nourish and create a shiny finish enhanced by the golden shimmers that bring such a lovely light to your whole face and makeup. This shade is not super pigmented as they say the whole Revolution line should be, however it's thought to be a pale pink so it's pretty reasonable that it goes on sheer at first. I think this is going to be my lipstick of choise in summertime since it always makes me thing of that time of the year maybe due to its shimmers that make your lips look just like you were bathing in the ocean and the sunset sun hits your lips and makes them shine.

La new entry più recente nel mio cassetto dei rossetti è il Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Lovelight (19,50€), uno degli ultimi lanci di Urban Decay che volevo provare da un po'. Lovelight è un rosa pallido pescato arricchito con bellissimi shimmer dorati, molto sheer ma modulabile come più si desidera, con una formula interessantissima da cui sono molto impressionata. Si stende veramente senza sforzo e idrata le labbra contentendo olio di jojoba, olio di avocado, burro di cacao e burro di karitè che nutrono e creano un finish brillante e lucido sottolineato poi dagli shimmer dorati che portano una rinfrescante luce a tutto il viso e al makeup. Questa tonalità non è estremamente pigmentata come dicono l'intera linea Revolution dovrebbe essere, però è pensata per essere un rosa pallido quindi è ragionevole che sia abbastanza sheer all'inizio. Penso che diventerà la mia prima scelta d'estate dato che mi ricorda sempre quel periodo dell'anno forse a causa degli shimmer che fanno apparire le labbra come se vi fosse appena immerse nel mare con la luce del sole al tramonto che illumina le labbra e le fa brillare.

I'm so excited for the following seasons for wearing these three new lipstick of mine. I know they all look similar in the bullets, however I promise they all have different finish and colors when on the lips; but yes, they are all nude as I'm a bit scared of darker brighter shades, as you may know, but I think everyone has its own range of colors of choise, and it makes sense I got three nude lipsticks if you think I wear them ten times more I would wear a single fucsia lipstick. Also this post wanted to be a sort of teaser since I'm going to review one of this lipstick later this week and the other two in the upcoming future, so stay tuned if you're interested in one or all of them.

Sono completamente entusiasta di questi tre nuovi rossetti e non vedo l'ora di indossarli nelle prossime stagioni. So che dallo stick sembrano tutti molto simili, ma prometto che hanno in realtà finish molto diversi e i colori variano molto una volta sulle labbra; ma sì, sono tutti piuttosto nude dato che ho ancora timore di indossare tonalità più scure o accese, come forse già saprete, ma penso che ognuno abbia la sua gamma di colore preferita, e ha senso che si tratta di tre rossetti nude se pensiamo che li indosserò dieci volte di più di quanto indosserei un singolo rossetto fucsia. Inoltre questo post voleva essere una sorta di teaser dato che recensirò uno di questi rossetti in settimana e gli altri due nel prossimo futuro, quindi fate un giro da queste parti se siete interessate a uno di loro o tutti.
