I've always been a fan of pretty packagings when it comes to beauty, and there's nothing cuter than tiny pots and jars which look lovely all piled up on my vanity table and that come pretty handy when I'm on the go. Even though a lot of people don't love pots for travelling or on the go as things can get a bit unhygienic, I love having them around in my bag for any emergency but I always remember to wash my hands first. When it comes to lip balms I find I always love more the ones that comes in pots or jars than the ones in stick form, and I know sometimes these pots can be unhygienic but to me the best lip balm formulas are always in there. The The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm* (£4) is a very inexpensive lip balm pick but great in hydrating your lips and leave them softer as it contains real honey made from nectar of wildflowers. It always gives my chapped lips a bit of relief and it's pretty handy in my handbag for when I need a bit of hydration during the day, also it has a lovely sweet honey scent with a floral note in it that makes the whole experience even nicer. Another great pick for daytime is the Dior Creme de Rose (£17,36), a lot more luxurious and a purchase I would suggest only if you are a big fan of the category and want to treat yourselft (or maybe if you own a little discount like I did), but that is a very nourishing lip balm enriched with shea butter, anti-aging complex, vitamins A and E and Damask Rose essential oil, all good ingredient to hydrate your lips and leave them feeling soft and smooth. It also has SPF 15 which is always good to protect your lips, has a lovely rose scent, and being that lightweight I really enjoy appling it in daytime better than overnight when I need something more rich and thick like my beloved Nuxe Reve de Miel (£9,50). This comes at a fraction of the price of the Dior counterpart but is my all time favorite: it's super rich and thick and gives the best hydration to super chapped lips like mine, it has a lovely sweet honey scent, and I'm definitely a fan of its creaminess. I know they offers also a stick version, but I haven't tried it yet (even if I'm very curious) and this could be great for hygienical reasons to keep in your handbag, but I wonder if it really has a similar consistency as the one in the pot I extremely love.

Quando si tratta di balsami labbra ho scoperto che quelli che preferisco sono sempre in piccole jar piuttosto che negli stick, e so che a volte possono essere scomodi o poco igienici, ma per me le migliori formule sono sempre lì dentro. Il The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm* (€5) è davvero economico ma ottimo nell'idratare le labbra e lasciarle morbide dato che contiene vero miele dal nettare di fiori di campo. Dona sempre un immediato sollievo alle mie labbra disidratate ed è ottimo da tenere in borsa per un tocco di idratazione durante il giorno, ha anche un dolcissimo profumo di miele con una nota floreale che rende l'intera esperienza anche più piacevole. Un altro ottimo lip balm per il giorno è il Dior Creme de Rose (€20,75), molto più lussuoso e un acquisto che consiglio di fare solo se siete dei grandi fan della categoria e se volete viziarvi un po' (o se avete un piccolo sconto come ho fatto io), ma che è anche un balsamo labbra molto nutriente arricchito con burro di karitè, complessi anti rughe, vitamine A ed E e olio essenziale di rosa damascena, tutti ingredienti ottimi e pensati per idratare le labbra e lasciarle soffici e morbide. Contiene anche una protezione solare fattore 15 che è sempre buona per proteggere le labbra dal sole, ha un profumo adorabile di rose, ed essendo molto leggero penso sia l'ideale per il giorno piuttosto che per la notte quando invece ho bisogno di qualcosa di più ricco e denso come il mio amato Nuxe Reve de Miel (€12,35). Questo ha un prezzo molto più piccolo della controparte Dior ma è il mio preferito di sempre: è estremamente ricco e denso e dona la migliore idratazione alle labbra screpolate come le mie, ha un profumo dolcissimo di miele, e sono decisamente una fan della sua cremosità. So che ne esiste anche una versione in stick, ma non l'ho ancora provata (anche se sono molto curiosa) ma in effetti potrebbe essere l'ideale da portare in borsa per ragioni igieniche, ma mi domando se possa essere paragonabile alla consistenza di quello nella jar.

I love multi-purpose products and if they come in a cute pot too it's the best way to mix business with pleasure. Some multi-purpose products in a pot I love are the Botanics 93% Organic Super Balm (£3,33) and the Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel* (£13,49); the former is a rich and super oily balm that melts down as soon as you touch it and contains mainly olive oil (which justifies the light scent) but also shea butter, sweet almond, jojoba and rosehip oils and beeswax. It's a mix of super good natural ingredients that aims to deeply hydrate your skin and can be used all over your body on the more dehydrated areas. I find it doesn't sink in so easly as it's supposed to do, but if applied on dampened skin it works a lot better and really helps in giving my dry skin some relief. The latter is a creamy gel that goes on quite only on the skin and contains glycerin and aloe thought mainly to hydrate the cuticle area if it's cracked or dehydrated as this is easly absorbed in a few minutes and goes deeply into the skin to help restore hydration and leave it so soft. This can be used all over your body as well, expecially good on elbows and knees, but, even if it could sound gross, I also love it on my feet to get rid of dryness really quickly. In both cases I apply it before bedtime and leave it on overnight for best results, and this is also why it became a bedside staple of mine.

Amo i prodotti multiuso e se hanno anche dei packaging carini è il miglior modo per unire l'utile al dilettevole. Alcuni dei prodotti multiuso in jar che amo sono il Botanics 93% Organic Super Balm (£3,33) e il Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel* (€16,60); il primo è un balsamo molto ricco e oleoso che si scioglie appena lo si tocca con le dita e che contiene principalmente olio d'oliva (che ne spiega il leggerissimo profumo) ma anche burro di karitè, oli di mandorla dolce, jojoba e rosa canina e cera d'api. E' un mix di ingredienti naturali molto buoni che promettono di idratare la pelle in profondità e può essere usato in qualsiasi punto del corpo nelle aree più disidratate. In realtà trovo che faccia un po' fatica ad assorbirsi come promette di fare, ma se applicato sulla pelle umida funziona molto meglio e dona alla mia pelle un po' di sollievo. L'altro è un gel cremoso che quando steso è piuttosto oleoso e contiene glicerina e aloe, pensato per idratare principalmente la zona delle cuticole se è disidratata e in pessime condizioni visto che si assorbe facilmente in pochi minuti e va in profondità per ripristinare l'idratazione e lasciare la pelle soffice. Anche questo gel può essere usato in qualsiasi punto del corpo, specialmente su gomiti e ginocchia, ma, anche se suona male, mi piace anche applicarlo sui piedi per sbarazzarmi della secchezza velocemente. In tutti i casi lo applico prima di andare a letto per lasciarlo agire tutta la notte, e per questo ha ora un posto fisso sul mio comodino.
