Review & Swatches: UD Afterglow Cheek Tint.

I've shown you this blush in every kind of post lately, month after month, and a lot of you asked me so many times a review about it, now finally it's here, even if I would say you already know all about it by the previuos posts in which it was featured. First of all I have to say something about my recent love for cream blushers, born this winter when I tryed my first Kiko Pure Pleasure Creamy Blush and so on, until I came across this Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint (such a long name) in a unsual color different by every others I earlier owned, and which for a long time made me forget about every other blusher I had. Then I forgot it for a few months for using some other products, but now my love for it came back and I'm using it everyday, without preferring any other blusher in my collection.

Dopo avervi mostrato questo blush in ogni genere di post per mesi e mesi, e dopo che mi è stata chiesta la recensione da moltissime persone, finalmente mi sono decisa, anche se ormai sono convinta che, per quanto ne ho parlato, il mio parere a riguardo ormai lo sappiano anche i muri. Prima di tutto bisogna però parlare del mio recente amore per i blush in crema, sbocciato questo inverno inizialmente tra me e il primo Kiko Pure Pleasure Creamy Blush e così via, fino a quando ho deciso di acquistare l'Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint di Urban Decay (che un nome più lungo non poteva darglielo) in un colore decisamente insolito e diverso da quelli che precedentemente avevo, che per un lungo periodo mi ha fatto dimenticare tutti gli altri. Poi per qualche mese me ne sono completamente dimenticata, a favore di un altro genere di prodotto, e però di recente è di nuovo tornato nel mio cuore (come avete visto dai recenti post) e lo sto utilizzando praticamente sempre, senza preferirlo mai (e dico mai) a nessun altro blush.

Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tints are from an old spring collection, but they are sold even now in a lot of store, also Sephora sells them. They are particular cream blushers with mainly bright and fun colors, but when blended they result a lot sheer on the skin and the color is not that pigmented as looks in the packaging; they are tints and so they promise to last a lot on the cheeks without being sticky and heavy to wear, but having a velvety and pleasant texture.
I bought just one of this blushers, in the shade Bang, and I find the previous description (similar to the one Urban Decay gives) represents the products as it actually is with all its features: the color looks scary at the beginning, but at a first layer on the skin it results a lot more sheer then it looks in the packaging, but it's also buildable and because of that you can reach either a natural look or even a more dramatic one, one for a day look, the other for a night one; it's a very versatile product to use in every kind of situation. I also want to clarify you don't have to judge a product's quality by the fact it is a sheer product or a pigmented one, saying the pigmented is good quality the other not, because I hear this statement but I don't agree at all, and this blusher can prove it: I think noone would wear a fully pigmented red blusher on his cheeks if not obliged to, or if he doesn't want to look like a clown. Its quality is estimable by other features and not this one, and being sheer is not always a lack in an expensive product. Of course, it can be easy to overdo sometimes and applying a bit too much product on your face without wanting it, but the result is generally never bad after a bit of blending even in that particular cases; anyway if you pay attention to don't take a lot of product, you won't have any problem.
Its texture is impalpable and velvety after blending it into your skin, almost like a powder blusher but a lot better, because it's not powdery, but even not sticky or too creamy at all, as other cream blushers can be. It allows to blend the color really smoothly, to use it also in summertime because its not heavy at all, and also it looks immediatly like a tint that stick on your cheeks and do not move from there.
Its lasting power is indeed good, even if I maybe expect a little bit more (me and my great expectations), but when I wear it in the morning I haven't to worry to look like I'm ill until lunch time because I know my blusher is still there. Sometimes when I check in the mirror, I find it a bit faded actually, but it's still there and this is what matters. Of course it doesn't mean you can touch your cheeks a lot of times during the day, because it can be a tint, but it's surely not indelible; however I found it can last almost 4-5 hours without fading, with a bit of attentions.

Gli Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint di Urban Decay fanno parte di una collezione primaverile molto vecchia, ma sono tuttavia venduti tuttora un po' ovunque, anche presso molti negozi Sephora che vendono Urban Decay. Si tratta di particolari blush cremosi, dai colori molto accesi e spesso stravaganti, che però una volta applicati sono molto sheer e modulabili, diventando tinte che si fissano al trucco precedentemente applicato e dunque promettono di durare molto a lungo, senza però essere pesanti o appiccicosi, anzi avendo una texture molto vellutata al tatto una volta applicato il prodotto sul viso. 
Io ho acquistato solo uno di questi blush, nella colorazione Bang e trovo che la precedente descrizione (che è più o meno quella che Urban Decay dà del proprio prodotto) rispecchi a pieno le sue caratteristiche: il colore che inizialmente spaventa molto, ad una prima passata è molto sheer, ma si può passare da un tocco di blush leggermente accennato, a molto di più grazie alla sua modulabilità, è davvero molto costruibile. Allora si può raggiungere facilmente sia un effetto molto naturale, perfetto per il giorno, sia uno molto più acceso e calcato, adatto magari alla sera, quando si vuole evidenziare il makeup che altrimenti non spiccherebbe quando manca la luce solare; per questo lo considero un prodotto molto versatile. Da chiarire è che, il fatto che un prodotto che costa un po' di più sia sheer non è sempre per forza un difetto, perchè è questa l'idea che circola sempre più spesso, ma questo blush ne è un esempio: non sarebbe bello se questo blush, di questo colore così acceso, fosse super pigmentato, perchè altrimenti sembreremmo tutte dei clown. La sua qualità è valutabile da altre caratteristiche e non dal fatto che sia sheer o meno, anche perchè se non lo fosse, a mio parere, non sarebbe poi una bella cosa. Certo, a volte può essere semplice esagerare e calcare un po' troppo la mano senza volerlo, ma in genere il risultato, una volta sfumato, non è mai negativo, e comunque basta prestare attenzione a quando si puccia il dito o il pennello per non correre rischi di questo genere.
Riguardo alla sua texture una volta steso, è davvero impalpabile, quasi quanto quella di un blush in polvere, ma per niente polverosa, e allo stesso tempo è ben lontana dall'essere appiccicosa o troppo cremosa come un blush in crema potrebbe essere, il che permette di stenderlo molto facilmente, di poterlo utilizzare anche e soprattutto nei mesi estivi non essendo pesante sulla pelle, e inoltre dà sin da subito l'impressione di essere un prodotto che si fissa e sta fermo lì, proprio come una tinta.
In effetti la durata è buona, anche se forse mi aspettavo di più (io e le mie enormi aspettative), e quando lo indosso per una mattinata intera di solito non mi preoccupo di sembrare bianca o smorta, perchè so che lui è lì. A volte quando torno a casa e mi guardo allo specchio in verità è un po' sbiadito, ma in ogni caso è ancora lì, e questo è quello che conta. Il fatto che sembra fissarsi alla pelle o al makeup che avete sotto, non vuole però dire che potete permettervi di toccarlo o passarci le mani su durante il giorno e sperare che lui rimanga intatto comunque, perchè non è indelebile. Con un po' di attenzione però, ho trovato che quelle 4-5 ore le dura completamente intatto, e solo dopo tende a sbiadire. 

Bang is the shade I've chosen: it's a beautiful pure red. It maybe can look a bit an unsaturated color from the pictures, but it's actually a really bright color in its packaging, a bit scary too at the beginning, but as you already know from the description before, you won't look like a clown unless you purely want it. Indeed, after applying it and blending it, it's a lot sheer and all it does is giving a natural and healthy color to your skin, like when you're actually blushing. For this reason I find it appropriate to use everyday in every occasion, and this is also why I'm using it non-stop forgetting about the other blushers I own. I also think it can suit a lot of skintones, looking like a natural redness of the skin, and so I would say it can be good for every kind of complexion. I've such a pale skin in winter, and despite that, it looks good on me too without looking unnatural, but it suits my skin even when it's a bit tanned in summertime; being buildable you can reach the perfect shade for every skintone.

Bang è la colorazione che ho scelto, e si tratta di un rosso puro, che forse in foto può sembrare leggermente poco saturo come colore, ma che in verità è molto accesso nel packaging e inizialmente spaventa un po', ma dato le buone premesse si può capire che non vi ritroverete a sembrare un clown a meno che non lo vogliate. Infatti una volta applicato e steso è molto sheer e tutto ciò che fa è donare un colorito molto naturale al volto, come quando si sta effettivamente arrossendo. Per questo motivo lo trovo un ottimo prodotto da utilizzare ogni giorno, e sempre per questo lo sto utilizzando sempre, non-stop, trascurando qualsiasi altro tipo di blush, perchè trovo che sia il colore adatto ad ogni situazione. Penso inoltre possa essere adatto a qualsiasi genere di colorito, avendo appunto la caratteristica di risultare come un rossore naturale sulla pelle, e quindi immagino possa adattarsi bene su un po' tutti i visi. Io sono molto chiara soprattutto d'inverno, nonostante ciò su di me non spicca risultando innaturale, ma anzi si fonde perfettamente con la mia pelle se lo applico leggermente; d'estate la leggerissima abbronzatura dà un altro aspetto alla mia pelle, e nonostante ciò questo blush è perfetto in ogni caso, risultando sempre naturale, ed essendo modulabile è possibile raggiungere il colore che più si desidera a seconda dei casi.

You can simply apply and blend it with your fingers like with every other cream blushers, but I think the best way to apply it is with a thick mineral powder brush; I use the mineral powder brush by Sephora n.45 and I find it's perfect to blend this UD blusher and make it look as natural as possible.

Come tutti i blush in crema si può semplicemente applicare con le dita e sfumarlo con esse per avere un ottimo effetto, tuttavia trovo che il miglior metodo per applicarlo sia con un pennello dalle setole molto dense, magari uno di quelli per applicare i fondi minerali; io uso il 45 di Sephora e trovo che sia ottimo per sfumarlo e ottenere l'effetto più naturale possibile.

This product is a bit expensive, and even I wouldn't buy it full price if I had not try it yet (but now that I tried it, I would spend that money on it, of course).
I don't know how it works in other countries, but here in Italy some Sephora stores sell it discounted right now in their summer sales; the same Urban Decay american website sells it discounted at the price of only 6$, and you can of course buy it from there if you live in USA (unfortunately Bang is sold out there), but I wouldn't suggest to buy from them if you live in Europe, because of the shipping rates. Then you can buy it from uk websites like Lookfantastic or BeautyBay, completely reliable and with worldwide free shipping, but also a lot of discount codes if you're subscribed to their newsletters.
If you're interested in the shade Bang, the one I've just shown you, you can buy it from where I bought it, The Cosmetic House, where it's still available and costs only 6£ (shipping rates are not expensive), a really moderate price for a high quality product; unfortunately only the shade Bang is available there, otherwise I would surely already have bought some other shades!

Passiamo alle informazioni interessanti invece, perchè questo prodotto è parecchio caro e forse a prezzo pieno non mi sarei nemmeno io lanciata nell'acquisto, sebbene comunque ora quei soldi li spenderei di certo conoscendo il prodotto e la sua qualità. 

Pare che in alcuni store Sephora (non sul sito) sia al momento disponibile tra i loro saldi; sullo stesso sito Urban Decay americano è attualmente in saldo a 6$, ma assolutamente sconsigliato l'acquisto da lì. Altrimenti è disponibile su siti uk come Lookfantastic o BeautyBay, completamente affidabili, che offrono la spedizione gratuita, e spesso anche sconti di vario genere, in particolare per gli iscritti alla newsletter.

Se invece vi interessa la stessa tonalità che vi ho mostrato, io l'ho acquistata da The Cosmetic House e ho visto che lì è ancora disponibile a sole 6£ (spese di spedizione davvero basse), che trovo sia un prezzo davvero ottimo per un prodotto del genere; purtroppo è disponibile solo in questa tonalità, altrimenti ne avrei acquistati anche altri!
