Uno dei miei buoni propositi per quest'anno era di indossare molti più rossetti durante questo 2014 e arricchire un po' il mio makeup con qualche nuovo colore. So che sto iniziando piuttosto gradualmente ma da quando ho tra le mani questo bellissimo rossetto non ne ho mai abbastanza, in più è rosa che è sempre stato il mio colore preferito da indossare e che penso si abbini meglio al mio incarnato e ai miei colori. Questo potrebbe tranquillamente essere un inizio per qualcosa di più acceso in futuro, chi lo sa, ma nel frattempo sto tenendo fede alla mia promessa di indossare rossetti più spesso, ad iniziare proprio da questo di Paul & Joe che vi recensirò oggi.
The Paul & Joe Beaute lipsticks range is offers three different texture categories, sheer, natural and full pigment, and every of them has its own range of shades for a total of twenty different lipsticks in their permanent line. Pret-a-Porter is number 202 and comes from the Natural line, which aims to own the more natural shade, with a very sheer and glossy finish, but giving your lips a beautiful touch of color as well. All the Paul & Joe lipsticks are enriched with orange flower water and white lily extract to hydrate and nourish your lips while you're wearing such pretty shades. Pret-a-Porter is a beautiful rosy pink with a light hint of orange in it that shows up only once on the lips (or at least on mine, which for the records have nothing warm in their natural color). It's a very rich and glossy lipstick that really feels like you're just wearing an hydrating balm, and for this reason is such an easy product to wear on a daily basis as it is comfortable and looks very natural on your lips at the same time. I wouldn't call it a true nude shade because, even though it's very sheer, it still is a pink and being pretty buildable as well, you can surely make it show on your lips if your natural lip color isn't too dark. It's not super pigmented tough, so it doesn't cover completely your natural lips underneath, but on the other hand it has the most comfortable and nice formula I ever wore. This goes on smoothly and effortlessly, and you just need one coat for the color to show up a bit, but you can definitely go over and over again to build up the color as you desire without making a mess. What I love about this is that it never ever smudges during the day, it just stays where you applied and never move 'till it starts to fade, and when it does fade after two/three hours it does it very evenly without leaving unflattering spots of color here and there. It's not the most long wearing lipstick out there, and if you're looking for something that would last for several hours and throughtout one or two meals this is not for you, but it stays on your lips for a good amount of time for having a sheer glossy formula, and fading very evenly and gradually it always looks good. You will for sure need a good touch up after a few hours or after a meal, but it's something I don't mind doing in order to have a super comfortable but cute lipstick on those lips of mine.
Il range di rossetti Paul & Joe Beaute offre tre diverse categorie di texture, sheer, natural e full pigment, e ognuna di questa ha la propria gamma di colori per un totale di venti diverse tonalità di rossetti nello loro linea permanente. Pret-a-Porter è il numero 202 e appartiene alla linea Natural, di cui fanno parte le tonalità più naturali, con un finish sheer e lucido, che donano alle labbra un leggero tocco di colore allo stesso tempo. Tutti i rossetti Paul & Joe hanno una formula arricchita con acqua di fiori d'arancio e estratto di giglio bianco, per idratare e nutrire la labbra mentre si indossa un bel rossetto. Pret-a-Porter è un bellissimo rosa con una leggera punta d'arancio che si rivela solo sulle labbra (o almeno sulle mie, che per la cronaca non hanno nulla di caldo nel loro colore naturale). E' un rossetto molto ricco e lucido che dà quasi l'impressione di indossare un balsamo labbra idratante, e per questa ragione è un prodotto facilissimo da portare con look diurni essendo comodo e risultando naturale sulle labbra allo stesso tempo. Non lo chiamerei però un nude vero e proprio dato che anche se sheer è comunque un rosa, ed essendo anche piuttosto modulabile, si riesce a far risaltare il colore in ogni caso. Non è pigmentatissimo però, quindi non copre completamente il colore naturale delle labbra sottostanti, ma dalla sua parte ha il fatto che è il rossetto più comodo da portare che abbia mai indossato. Si stende facilmente e senza intoppi, e vi serve anche solo una prima passata per far apparire il colore sulle labbra, ma come dicevo è possibile costruire il colore a piacere con più passate. Quello che mi piace della sua formula è che non sbava mai durante la giornata, sta esattamente dove è stato applicato e non di muove di lì fino a quando inizia a svanire, e quando lo fa dopo due/tre ore svanisce uniformemente allo stesso tempo in tutte le zone senza lasciare antiestetiche macchie di colore qui e là. Non è il rossetto più longevo una volta sulle labbra, e se siete alla ricerca di qualcosa che duri a lungo e sopravviva a più pasti statene alla larga, ma dura qualche buona ora per avere una formula sheer e lucida, e svanendo gradualmente non è mai antiestetico. Servirà per certo un ritocco dopo qualche ora e dopo un pasto, ma è qualcosa che non mi dispiace fare pur di avere un rossetto comodo sulle labbra.
Pret-a-Porter is such a natural, wearable shade I like to wear in literally every occasion as it is natural but also pretty and brings that elegant touch of color to my lips that would look fine in a lot of scenaries. It's fairly sheer so you don't need a mirror to apply it on the go for a quick touch up as it's seriously almost impossible to smudge it all over your face, plus being so light and sheer you don't need a precise application at all, which for a lazy girl like I am is such a relief. Obviously you don't need a matching lip pencil at all, and since it glides on easly and smoothly, and as it's pretty hydrating as well, your lips don't need a lot of cares before the application, and I really apply it even when my lips are chapped so badly without making the lipstick looking scary or like it's falling apart.
Pret-a-Porter è una tonalità talmente naturale e portabile che mi piace indossarlo in letteralmente qualsiasi occasione dato che è naturale ma anche elegante sulle labbra, e che risulterebbe appropriato in moltissimi scenari. E' giustamente sheer quindi non si ha per forza di cose bisogno di uno specchio per applicarlo se si è fuori casa o per un ritocco veloce, ed è praticamente impossibile farlo sbavare e rovinare il trucco, in più essendo così leggero e sheer non è necessaria un'applicazione precisa, che per una ragazza pigra come me è un grande sollievo. Chiaramente una matita labbra abbinata non è necessaria, e dato che questo rossetto si stende facilmente e senza intoppi, e che è molto idratante allo stesso tempo, le labbra non hanno bisogno di particolari cure prima dell'applicazione, e io lo applico addirittura anche quando le mie labbra sono super screpolate eppure non ne esce mai nulla di spaventoso e mai sembra che il rossetto o le mie labbra stiano cadendo a pezzi.
As I showed you in this post, Pret-a-Porter could look pretty similar to another Paul & Joe Lipstick, Retro from the Full Pigment line, when both in the bullets, but as soon as you swatch them near each other they reveal such different shades of color in addition to their completely opposite textures and formulas. Retro is definitely less pink than Pret-a-Porter but more on the nude side, whilst Pret-a-Porter can look a lot more similar to the Kiko Shiny Pearl offering in the shade 193, different in colors as this last one is a beige-y nude, but very similar in the formula as they are both sheer and super hydrating, very comfortable and easy to wear - and it's not a pure coincidence if the Kiko offering is always been one of my favorite lipsticks to wear, even though it's maybe a bit more fleeting than its Paul & Joe cousin.
Come vi ho mostrato in questo post, Pret-a-Porter potrebbe apparire molto simile ad un altro rossetto Paul & Joe, Retro dalla linea Full Pigment, se guardati entrambi dagli stick, ma appena swatchati l'uno affianco all'altro si rivelano due tonalità molto diverse, senza contare le loro formule e texture a dir poco opposte. Retro è decisamente meno rosa di Pret-a-Porter ma più nude, mentre Pret-a-Porter può risulare molto più simile a uno dei Kiko Shiny Pearl nella tonalità 193, leggermente diverso in colore dato che questo vira più al beige, ma molto simile nella formula dato che entrambi sono sheer e molto idratanti, comodi e facili da indossare - e non è una pura coincidenza se il rossetto Kiko appena nominato sia da sempre uno dei miei preferiti da indossare quotidianamente, anche se forse il Kiko è un po' più fugace del cugino targato Paul & Joe.
The thing is with these Paul & Joe lipsticks that they are not cheap at all, coming at £13,27 only for the lipstick refill to which you need to match a lipstick case - it's not optional as the refill is very delicate - that comes from £5,30 (the pink and white one I got, which is the classic permanent case) up to about £7 for the limited edition cases. These lipsticks are definitely great for any lipsticks fanatic that want a good quality lipstick that comes in a beautiful packaging you can customize as you like, but as the price is not that affordable you need to value if you consider a sheer lipstick something you would invest that amount of money in, or if you prefer spending more for long wearing super pigmented lipsticks and go for cheaper alternatives when it comes to sheer formulas - and the Kiko offering would make a perfect option for that, even though it now hasn't that same name as mine since they revolutioned everything recently (I think they could now be the Ultra Glossy Stylo here but I'm not sure). For me it's definitely worth as sheer lipsticks are the category of lip products I wear the most and indeed I'm wearing Pret-a-Porter non-stop since I got it. This was such a nice discovery and treat for me, and I can't thank my boyfriend enough for giving me this lovely lipstick as a Valentine Day gift.
Il problema con questi rossetti Paul & Joe è che non sono per niente economici costando intorno ai 15€ solo per il refill a cui va abbinata necessariamente una custodia - non è opzionale dato che il refill è molto delicato - che può costare dai 6€ (per la custodia in plastica classica appartenente alla linea permanente) fino ai 9€ circa per le custodie in edizione limitata. Questi rossetti sono decisamente ottimi per qualsiasi fanatica che vuole un rossetto di buona qualità in un bellissimo packaging che si può personalizzare come più si vuole, ma visto che il prezzo non è accessibilissimo bisogna considerare e valutare se per voi valga la pena spendere quella determinata cifra per un rossetto sheer o se si preferisce investirla in un rossetto più longevo e super pigmentato e invece optare per qualcosa di più economico quando si tratta di formule sheer - e il rossetto Kiko sarebbe una perfetta alternativa, anche se ora penso gli abbiano cambiato il nome (potrebbe essere ora diventato un Ultra Glossy Stylo qui, ma non ne sono certa). La cosa è molto soggettiva in base alle proprie preferenze e per me vale decisamente la pena - soprattutto se lo si trova in saldo - dato che indosso i rossetti sheer molto più di qualsiasi altro tipo di formule e infatti sto portando Pret-a-Porter praticamente di continuo da quando l'ho avuto. E' stata una piacevolissima scoperta per me e un bellissimo regalo di San Valentino da parte del mio ragazzo.
