Butters for your lips.

If I have to mention a category of product I really enjoy wearing on my lips, this would obviously be lip butters. I love lip products in every shape, I like wearing lipsticks and lip pencil, I really enjoy the different finishes lip products have, but a lot of times I still feel a bit uncomfortable wearing lipsticks every day all day. This is why I truly love wearing lip butters instead, because they're comfortable on your lips, but if they're colored, they can also give you that put-together-look while still easy and cute, for an every day basic.

For this purpose I want to mention two different lip butters and give you a little comparative review of both of them: I'm talking about the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate (8£) and the & Other Stories Lip Butter in Frieze Pink (7€). The two products have the same concept underneath, but they are completely different, not only in terms of colors, but I'm also talking about texture, consistency, ingredients, scents.
The Korres Lip Butter is in a beautiful corally color which reminds to summertime and pittoresque landscapes of the sun sunrising on the beach, and also it's fruity and fresh scent reminds to pomegranate eaten on that beach for breakfast with the sand between your toes. I love wearing it in hot days, but also in springtime when everything wants a pop of color, and you too. The consistency is really creamy, which you can tell at the first touch is a lot more creamy than the & Other Stories one, but I think you can also tell it just looking to the pictures. Thanks to this feature, it results really easy to apply smoothly on your lips (with a bit of smudging risk), but also it make the lip butter really comfortable to wear because it feels not sticky at all. I think it creaminess is due to the shea butter and rice wax, natural ingredients that helps to keep your lips hydrated without needing a lot of parabens and mineral oil. I like the Korres Lip butter having natural ingredients, and you can't say the same about the one from & Other Stories, which on the contrary contains liquid paraffin and other bad stuff.
On the other side I also like the & Other Stories Lip Butter because of its hot pink shade which is one of the colors that suits my features better: dark hair, pale skin, and you'll need a bit of hot pink on your lips! I also like its vanilla scent, my favorite scent ever, which reminds me to home, kitchen, good recipes, and candles burning on the shelfs diffusing a sweet familiar scent everywhere. However its consistency is really difficult to work with, it's a lot rougher than the Korres one, which make it difficult to apply smoothly on the lips, but it doesn't mean it will be less shiny or glowy once applied. Also I find this feature helps to make the product last longer on the lips than the Korres one, which tends to disappear in a hour or so. The & Other Stories Lip Butter lasts longer on your lip and gives a nice shine to them.
Colors in both cases are really sheer as you expect a lip butter to be: I really enjoy wearing sheer lip products, because I feel a lot more comfortable in a lot of situation with only that bit of color on my lips and not a fully pigmented one. They can look a bit similar in pictures on the lips, but I can assure you they maintain their original undertone even if they are a lot sheer.

Someone once asked me if you can use these lip butters on your cheek too, and then I tried it, but I think they're both too creamy and sticky to be used as a cream blusher. I like the most the Korres one used in this way, because it melts into the skin better, but you have to fix them both with a translucent powder to make them last longer and avoid the stickiness. Also, a lot of people doesn't like lip products in a jar because of igenical reasons, and you know, that's right, but as always you can use a clean brush to apply them to your lips instead of fingers. For this purpose I like to use the Real Techniques Detailer Brush, which is meant to be used to apply concealer, but I find it too thin and fine for that, but love it for applying lip products of every kind.

I find they're both in the same price range, this is why I wanted to compared them; I suggest to try the Korres Lip Butter first if you didn't try any of them, and if you're ok with the creamy formula you can stay with them and buy other colors too (they have the most beautiful shades); if you feel you want a more long-lasting formula instead, the & Other Stories lip butter is the one for you!

Do you enjoy wearing lip butters too? Have you tried the one i shared in this post?
Anche voi amate indossare i lip butter? Avete provato questi che vi ho mostrato?
